Kaytee Long

CEO & Founder, DIY Public Relations, Inc.
Kaytee Long is the CEO and founder of DIY PR, INC. and creator of the DIY Music PR Bootcamp. As a publicist for over a decade, she has experience across multiple beats of the entertainment industry including music, film and television and has worked with A-list celebrities, the hottest must-have products and top of mind influencers. In addition to full-service PR and coaching independent artists, she has worked with many major recording artists and award shows such as the Grammys, Billboard Music Awards and the American Music Awards. Kaytee has been a featured speaker at multiple industry events and for organizations such as CD Baby, The Berklee College of Music, Women In PR and Icon Collective. She was also honored as a 2020 Trailblazer Publicist by Women In PR. As the daughter of a musician (and a hobbyist piano player and singer) Kaytee has been raised with a passion for art, the creator, and providing musicians with the education needed to take their careers to the next level.

Cristina Cano

Cristina Cano is an experienced music professional with a passion for helping independent musicians create success pathways for their craft. Cristina has spent the last decade aiming to support the evolution of the industry from the inside, and to create more opportunities for the growth of independent artists. More recently as a digital marketing guru for CD Baby, she has been a primary planner and producer for the DIY Musician Conferences in Nashville, Austin, and Valencia, Spain, and has been a featured speaker on the subject of releasing music at multiple music conferences and events around the globe. With her background in performance, she recognizes that every release is an opportunity to dazzle an audience, and has coached artists on release-strategy, as well as live-show production. Cristina is also an internationally touring multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, and performer under the alias Siren and the Sea, and knows the dedication it takes to turn a passion into a career!

Melissa Nastasi

Senior Publicist
Melissa Nastasi is a seasoned music industry publicist for over 15 years. Initially jumping into the business right after college, she started in the radio department of Columbia Records. Moving on to the Indie scene, where her true musical passion lied, she found herself at Beggars Music Group working for labels 4AD, Matador Records and more. At her time there, she transitioned from radio to tour publicity, while working with, at the time, up and coming acts such as The National, Pretty Girls Make Graves, Interpol, The Mountain Goats and more established artists like Stephen Malkmus of Pavement. After leaving Beggars in 2007, Melissa had taken on roles at several New York City based publicity companies before venturing out as a freelance publicist nearly 8 years ago. During her time as a freelancer she has worked with the likes of Maggie Rogers, Rally in the Valley featuring The National and Kaki King, Jared & the Mill, Matt Pond, Macklemore's Travis Thompson, Pravada (Featuring members of Margot & the Nuclear So and So's), Nik West (Prince bandmate) and more. She's excited to be a part of the DIY family!

Christian Hee

Senior Publicist
Christian Hee takes pride in helping independent and up-and-coming artists build strong foundations, whether it be in their home market, or in markets they visit while on tour. She got her start as an in-house publicist for a boutique artist management company, where one of her proudest accomplishments was working with Colorado band, Elephant Revival, from their first appearance at Red Rocks Amphitheatre as the first of three artists, and up through their third performance as headliners at the renowned outdoor venue. Christian's current day job is as the marketing manager for Z2 Entertainment, where she enjoys working with artists looking to gain traction in the Front Range when they come through the Fox Theatre in Boulder, Colorado.
